CARE OF GAS MASKS

NECESSITY EMPHASISED IN BRITAIN.

DUTY RESTING ON ALL CITIZENS

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. RUGBY, October 29.

The Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, in a circular to local authorities, reminds them of the need for impressing upon householders the urgency of taking proper care of the respirators which were recently distributed throughout the country. The circular says the Government provided the respirators for the safety of the civil population, and it is therefore the duty of all citizens to ensure that they are not damaged. Arrangements will be made for regular inspections. The delivery of boxes to contain the masks has begun, and will be completed as soon as possible. The rate of manufacture of the boxes is about 5,000.000 a week.
