WAIRARAPA SHOW
There will be a big increase in entries in the Kennel Club dog section at the Wairarapa Show next week. Many breeds of dogs will be on exhibition and this section of the show is sure to draw a big crowd of interested onlookers. Cheese and butter entries are larger than for many years. The ladies’ section, cooking, sewing and fancywork has drawn very strong competition, the number of entries being well up on last year. The fancy work exhibits will come from many parts of New Zealand. The school exhibits are again particularly numerous, and with many fine trade displays, the agricultural hall should contain a fine show on its own. During show days the Boy Scouts will be on duty on the showgrounds and will be willing to lend a hand wherever wanted. They will also have charge of selling the catalogues. The night show should be bigger and brighter than ever before. On October 27 a special train’ will leave Carterton for Wellington at 4.47 p.m. and in addition the usual train leaving Masterton 4.25 p.m. (Carterton 5.3 p.m.) will also convey passengers through to Wellington, and will leave Masterton 5.30 p.m., Carterton 6.24 p.m. Particulars of train arrangements are contained in an advertisement.
