PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr Ridley, who has been visiting relatives here, has returned to Dunedin. Mrs T. Harvey, of Kahutara, has been visiting relatives in the district. Mr Ken Munro, an erstwhile resident of the district, was a visitor here at the weekend. Miss Winnie Thomas, who was the guest of Mrs R. Rangi for a week, has returned to her home in Nelson. Mr Vic Birchall, who has been in this district for some time, will return to Woodville within the next few days. Elders Handy and Allen are’visiting the district. Mrs Hansen, who is an inmate of the Greytown Hospital, is making good progress towards recovery. Mr Sam Antony, who is in the Greytown Hospital, is progressing favourably. The condition of Mr Norman Murphy shows a slight improvement. The Dust Nuisance. The dust nuisance on the main road to Pirinoa will 'in the next few days be done away with as sealing operations have commenced, and are expected to be finished within a few days. Closing of Golf Season. The official closing of the golf season will take place on October 29. It is expected that the local club will be represented at the tournament at Featherston during the weekend. Summer Conditions. Summer conditions prevail in the district and in some parts the pastures are showing the effect of the heat.
