MANDATES POLICY
RHODESIAN RESOLUTION EMPIRE CONFERENCE ADVOCATED. IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT LEAD WANTED. (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) SALISBURY, October 19. The Southern Rhodesian Parliament unanimously passed a resolution urging the Union to request the Imperial Government to summon a conference of the heads of the Dominions and Colonies to decide on a policy regarding “the continued holding or relinquishment of mandates.” OPINION IN FRANCE. OFFICIAL PRONOUNCEMENT DESIRED. (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) PARIS, October 19. The Chambers Republican Federation group passed a resolution demanding that the Government resist the German colonial claims and urging an official pronouncement of policy.
