TRADE TREATY

SOME REPORTED DETAILS. BRITAIN & THE UNITED STATES. LONDON, October 18. The “Financial News” confirms that a complete agreement is assured between Britain and the United States, changing hundreds of the schedules in the Anglo-American tariffs. These will be embodied in a document which is being prepared. Certain difficulties of drafting remain to be overcome. American raw materials, apples, andother farm products, and tobacco will have easier entry to Britain. America will reciprocate regarding specialised British manufactures, including certain textiles.

The Ottawa correspondent of the United Press says that Armistice Day may be chosen for the promulgation of the new American and Canadian trade treaty, the original treaty having been announced similarly three years ago. It is also reported that the Anglo-Am-erican treaty will be announced simultaneously.
