The death has occurred of David Comber, aged 92. of Blacktown, New South Wales, who claimed to be the oldest living campaigner against the Maoris. Mr Comber, at the age of 18, was the youngest member of a contingent sent to suppress outbreaks among the natives at Wanganui, and in the Taranaki.
