B. Maunsell during her visit to Masterton. Miss Hardacre, of Morrinsville, is a visitor to Masterton, being the guest of Mrs J. F. Roberts, Bunny Street. Mrs W. Grigg, of Kuratawhiti Street, Greytown, left yesterday on a holiday which is to be spent at Wellington and. Palmerston North. Mrs L. F. Brooks, of Palmerston North, was a visitor to Master ton during the week, being the guest of Mrs F. Petersen, Essex Street. Miss Evelyn Habib, of Featherston, who is to be married on Saturday, has been the guest of honour at a number of social functions. On Tuesday evening a surprise party consisting of her friends of the Featherston Catholic Church and the Society of Mary waited on Miss Evelyn Habib in honour of her approaching marriage. After supper Miss Card, on behalf of the Catholic Church, and Miss May McLeod, on behalf of the Children of Mary, made presentations to Miss Habib and expressed the best wishes for her future happiness. Miss Habib suitably replied and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” ■ brought a very .happy evening to a close.
