DEATH OF WELL-KNOWN SAWMILLER BODY FOUND IN DEBRIS OF WHARE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. The body of George McCauley, sawmiller, burnt beyond recognition, was found in the remains of a whare at Inglewood early this morning. Apparently Mr McCauley had been awakened and had endeavoured to escape, but was overcome by smoke and collapsed near the doorway. An effort was made by a neighbour to rescue Mr McCauley when the alarm was given, but he was driven back by the flames, which completely destroyed the whare. Mr McCauley was’well-known in the Taumarunui district.
