CZECH REFUGEES
APPEAL TO DOMINIONS NEW ZEALAND’S POSH lON STATEMENT BY MR JORDAN (Received This Day, 2.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 18. The “Daily Herald” quotes Mr W. J. Jordan, New Zealand High Commissioner, as seating that the Dominion is prepared to admit as many Czech refugees as possible, “to the limit of our requirements,” A news agency states that the British Government has acquainted -the Dominions with the nature of the problem, but has not specific suggestions. There are hopes that the Dominions may be persuaded to take a few hundred. The problem is not being tackled at present in terms of the thousands Britain is expected to take.
