SOUTH PARK

IN FIRST-CLASS CONDITION. CONGRATULATIONS TO SOCIETY. At last night’s meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, the Park Custodian, Mr H. Sturgeon, reported that in company with the Deputy-Mayor, Councillor W. White, he had paid a visit to South Park. Everything in the Park was found to be in first-class order and it was obvious that it was being looked after by some persons who took a great interest in the Park. Mr Sturgeon suggested that six weeping elms be planted along the wooden fence by the playing apparatus so that parents could shelter from the sun and also be near their children. It was decided to extend to the South Park Committee the congratulations of the council on the continued interest it was displaying in the matter of the upkeep and care of South Park.
