TRY THESE RECIPES. Cheese Crackers. 1 packet of cracker biscuits (or any savoury biscuit). Fill with the following mixture and’force filling on ffip and garnish with stuffed olives or gherkins. Filling: J pt whipped cream: 1 heaped tablespoons finely grated heaped tablespoons finely grated -heese; half-teaspoon mustard; halfteaspoon cloudy onion food flavouring. Use a large rose lube for forcing. Savoury Cream Filling. Quarter-pint whipped cream; 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley 2 tablespoons finely grated cheese; 1 teaspoon cloudy celery food flavouring. Mix all ingredients together and pile on savoury cheese biscuits. Decorate with paprika and tiny pieces of curled celery. Cream of Potatoes. Take 21b potatoes, loz butter, 1 pint milk, quarts water. 3 large onions, 1 teaspoonful minced parsley, salt, nnd pepper. Peel and slice the pota’nes into a saucepan. Add the peel and sliced onions, water, and pepper md salt to taste. Cover and simmer l wo hours. Rub through a sieve and -eturn to the saucepan. Add butter. Bring to the boil and whisk in boiling milk with an eggbeater. Add parsley, and serve at once. Gelatine Fruit Pie, Take tablespoons gelatine; ’ cup cold water; J cup sugar; J cup hot water; J cup orange juice; 2 tablespoons lemon juice; J teaspoon salt; -J cup crushed pineapple; 1 sliced banana; 1 egg white; A cup cream. Method. —Mix gelatine with cold water. Dissolve with sugar in hot water. Add fruit juices and stir. Cool, and when beginning to congeal, beat well with egg beater. Fold in pineapple, banana, whipped cream, and egg white. Pour into a biscuit crust. Chill. Serve topped with whipped cream if desired.
