COLLIE CLUB MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Martinborough Collie Club was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Friday night. | The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr Murdoch McLeod; president, the Hon A. D. McLeod; vice-presidents, Messrs John McLeod, lan McLeod, Robt McLeod, J. A. McDougall, Jack Martin, R. A. Nicol; executive committee, Messrs M. McLeod, lan Nicol, Q. Donald Junr, R. W. MacLaren, A. R. McLeod, J. Baghurst. Mr Ivan McLeod was elected chairman. At the conclusion of the meeting the chairman thanked all members for their help during the past year and solicited it for the coming season. Cricket. The first cricket match of the season was played on the local ground when the newly formed St Patrick Old Boys’ Club of Masterton journeyed to Martinborough and played Martinborough. The game resulted in a win for Martinborough on the first innings. Scores: St Patrick’s 60 (B. Howard 25, P. Flynn 12). Johns, Cowerthwaite and Todd were the most successful bowlers. Martinborough 66 (Cowperthwaite 20, T. Scott 10). Cross took 6 wickets for 12 runs.

Rain stopped play in the afternoon. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea by the local team.
