CANTERBURY COMPETITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 15. The first round of the Canterbury Cricket Associations’s competitions were completed this afternoon. A feature of the play was a breezy innings of 132 not out by G. J. L. Powell for Riccarton against Old Collegians. He batted just over an hour and a half, hitting 17 fours and five sixes. From one over he hit 36 runs, scoring from every ball. Scores: Old Boys, 303 for nine wickets declared beat West Christchurch 128 and 178 for seven. Riccarton, 306 for five, declared, beat Old Collegians, 177 and 129. East Christchurch, 228, beat Lancaster Park, 166 and 182. St Albans, 184 and 55 for three beat Sydenham, 62 and 171.
