ELECTION DAY
KEEN INTEREST MANIFESTED IN WELLINGTON PEOPLE WAITING FOR BOOTHS TO OPEN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. As an indication of the keen interest in the elections, some of the polling booths in Wellington had people waiting outside ready for them to open at 9 o’clock, so that they could record their votes. Polling throughout the morning was particularly brisk. The weather was beautifully fine and people appeared anxious to get their votes recorded early, so as to have the rest of the day available for sport and pleasure.
