Ballot Papers Dropped From Air.
Ballot papers for about 120 public works employees at Milford Sound were successfully flown to the sound yesterday by the Southland Aero Club’s instructor, Mr F. J. Adams. Because of the absence of an aerodrome, a landing was not possible, but the papers, which had been parcelled in straw and sacking, were dropped accurately in front of the hostel, where a group of men was waiting. The totals from the Milford booth in the Wallace electorate will be sent to the returning officer by wireless.
