MARTINBOROUGH
OBITUARY. (“Times-Age” Special.) With the death of Jimmy Blackwell on Monday morning at the Masterton Hospital one of the most cheerful and patient sufferers went to his eternal rest. Through the fifteen years of his life Jimmy bore his pain with fortitude and courage and was known throughout the hospital as the brave lad who faced his handicapped life with a smile. He had many interests in life, chief among them being the study of radio. The six pallbearers at his funeral were members of the Martinborough Amateur Radio Club of which Jimmy was a member of the executive for about six months. When the state of his health necessitated his return to hospital he was elected a life member of the club and he always showed keen interest in the club’s activities. His sorrowing mother received many messages of sympathy and. beautiful floral tributes which signified the affection and admiration that he was held in by all who knew him.
