“LITTLE AUSTRIA”
PROPOSAL IN AUSTRALIA. A proposal that “Little Austria” be created in the Australian Alps is made by the New South Wales tourist bureau, a Government agency. There are 2,000 miles of skiable snow on the Kosciusko massif in South-east-ern Australia. The bureau suggests that a new alpine province, peopled by Austrians who would cater for winter sports tourists, be founded there.
