The Commerce Department at Washington announced today that gold imports for September were the highest in history, totalling approximately 521.000,000 dollars, due to the European crisis. Of this sum 378,000,000 dollars were from the United Kingdom, 47,000,000 from the Netherlands, and 35,000,000 from Japan.
