The fat cattle market firmed after the first offer, and. at the end values were'up to 20s. Better heavyweight prime beef made 46s to 48s 6d; heifers, in cases, 47s 6d; cows, to 45s a 1001 b. The porker entry in the fat pig section was again on the light side, but the sale was one of the best this season. A good number of rough and unfinished sorts were readily snapped up by bacon fatteners, and prices generally advanced 2s to 3s.
