NEW AIR LINER

LARGE AND COMFORTABLE CRAFT. MAIDEN FLIGHT OVER LONDON. (Received This Day, —.40 a.m.) RUGBY, October 11. The first of the new giant Ensign air .liners, built for Imperial Airways by Armstrong-Whitworth, made its maiden flight over London at a height of 12,500 feet. Passengers commented on the comfort and silence and on the accommodation, which will be adequate for forty persons by day and will provide sleeping berths for twenty by night. The new liner will shortly go into service on Empire routes and will be followed by thirteen more, representing a total capital outlay of £750,000.
