BOWLING
MASTERTON CLUB. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Bowling Club was held in the pavilion last evening, Mr H. H. Daniell occupying the chair in the absence of the president, Mr S. V. Gooding. Appreciation was expressed by the committee at the assistance given to the club by the patron (Mr F. H,. Dunderdale) in the conducting of the billiards.. at the pavilion; also of the voluntary work of painting the inside of the club room by a band of workers. The resignation of the green superintendent, Mr F. Knowles, was received with regret. It was decided that a letter of appreciation for his past services be forwarded to Mr Knowles. After discussion it was decided that as Thursday would be a general half holiday the green should be open for play, weather permitting. Letters were sent to Dr. J. Cowie and Mr D. Speedy expressing the club’s earnest wishes for their restoration to health. Two new members were elected. The club has several new and promising players for the coming season.
