STORY DENIED
NATIONAL PARTY FUNDS NO CONTRIBUTION WHATEVER FROM AUSTRALIA By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, October 11. The report published in this morning’s “Labour Daily” that funds are being contributed by the United Australia Party for the New Zealand elections was stoutly denied tonight by party officials here. It is added that no significance attaches to the visit of the party’s general secretary, Mr Horsfield, to New Zealand. He is merely there on holiday, studying New Zealand election methods.
“That is correct. No contribution whatever has been made by the United Australia Party to the National Party s finances, and Mr Horsfield is over here purely on his own account on holiday,” said Mr D. W. McClurg, National Party secretary, when the Sydney message was read to him last night.
