OBITUARY
MRS MAY HADFIELD. The death occurred on Saturday of Mrs May Hadfield, wife of Mr Richard Hadfield. Stanley Avenue, Palmerston North. The late Mrs Hadfield was the only daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J. T. Cooper, old residents of Te Ore Ore, Masterton. She was born in Masterton 51 years ago and attended the Taueru and Masterton schools. After her marriage she lived at Woodville for 20 years, where her husband .was farming. She was widely known for her great personality and as a worker in the Methodist Church. Her popularity was evidenced by the large following of mourners at the funeral in Palmerston North, those attending coming from Wairarapa, South Island and nearby districts' The pall-bearers were Messrs C. Hadfield, J. Hadfield, A. Hadfield (Blenheim), Clark (Palmerston North),' C. Morgan and J. Aplin (Woodville). The Rev. J. Hubbard officiated at the service at the residence and graveside. Messrs W. W. Cooper (Kairanga), H. J. Cooper (Opaki) and S. G. Cooper (New Plymouth) are brothers of the late Mrs Hadfield.
