BULL SALE
ABERDEEN ANGUS STOCK The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd report:—On Monday we held another successful annual sale of Polled Angus bulls on account of the well known local breeders, Mr R. R. Burling and Mr H. T. Hume. The former brought forward twenty 2-year bulls, and the latter thirty 2-year-olds, and in addition, the offering included 3 exceptionally nice well-grown bulls from Mr A. H. Falloon. The sale commenced brightly and continued so throughout. Mr Hume’s bulls were particularly attractive this year and included some really outstanding animals. Public appreciation upheld this view, and to Mr Hume fell the top price of the sale, 62 guineas, with other quality bulls making 55 guineas, 44 guineas 'and 40 guineas. Of the thirty bulls sold on account of Mr Hume, the average top price realised was 34 3-5 gns, which is a tribute to the quality of his entry. Mr R. R. Burling’s offering also contained a top of good useful bulls. Well and favourably known these bulls required like description and sold readily up to 35 guineas, the average price for 14 sold being 28 guineas. Mr A. H. Faloon sent' forward a pen of three, this being his first appearance at this fixture and an average realisation of 38 guineas speaks for the worth of his offering. The advertised entry of Red Poll bulls on account Mr Chas Hudson attracted favourable comment, but were never theless difficult to dispose of.
