CENTENARY FUND

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH EFFORT AMPLE MEASURE OF SUCCESS ASSURED. STATEMENT BY REV G. H. JUPP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The success of the Centenary Thanksgiving Fund of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand was assured, said the Rev G. H. Jupp, at a meeting of chairmen of congregations in the Wellington Presbytery • who are working for the fund. He knew nothing of the progress of the fund in ten presbyteries in the North Island and one in the South Island, but was able to announce that, apart from these, at least £BO,OOO had been promised. Large amounts were expected to be raised in North Island presbyteries not yet visited, and in one at least £2,000 had been raised some time ago. He was confident that when the General Assembly met in Dunedin next month, £150,000 would be in sight.
