CARD PARTY AND DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very good attendance at the South Featherston euchre party and dance on Thursday night. The winners were:—Ladies: Mrs Baker, 1; Mrs H. Williams, 2. Men: Mr E. Fenwick, 1; Mr A. Ashworth, 2. The Monte Carlo was won by Mr T. McKay and Miss Fraser. Mr T. Hardie donated the prize for the men. Croquet Club Function. The Featherston Croquet Club held a euchre party at the, home of the president (Mrs Saunders) on Thursday night. The winners 'were: Mrs E. Sim 1, and Mrs Lynsky 2. The prizes were donated by Mrs A. D. Edwards. Boxing Tournament. The following are the results of the bouts in the boxing tournament held at Featherston:—Thompson, 5.12 (Featherston) lost to L. Allever, 5.11 (Moera); Mudgley, 6.8 (Featherston) lost to Pickford, 6.8 (Moera); B. Cade, 8.2 (Featherston) beat F. Garner, 8.0 (Petone); Jeffrey, 5.10 (Featherston) lost to Cook, 5.10 (Petone); Chasland, 6.7 (Featherston) lost to Phelps, 6.8 (Moera); Kinsey, 6.8 (Featherston) beat Archer, 6.12 (Berhampore); Benge, 10.9 (Featherston) beat Duffy, 10.0 (Petone); Frew, 10.5 (Featherston) beat Turner, 10.9 (Moera); Olliver, 4.4 (Moera) drew with Johanson, 4.4 (Berhampore)j Sharp, 6.7 (Featherston) beat Fellingham, 6.3 (Featherston); Morris, 9.6 (Featherston) beat McMillan. 9.6 (Petone) by a knock-out in the fourth round; Connelly (Featherston) drew with Fairbrother, 9.9 (Petone); W. Nix, 10.7 J (Featherston) beat Giles, 10.4 J (Petone), by a knock-out in the first roupd. Trophies were donated by Messrs W. McGill, A. Allison, J. W. Card, Les. Lambess, G. Cook, Ltd., T. Hardie, J. Brophy, and “Anonymous.” A prize for the most scientific boxer was given by the president, Mr R. F. Watson. This was won by B. Cade. Mr S. Hercock was referee. Mr J. Brophy announcer, Mr T. Hardie, timekeeper, and Messrs A. Allison (Masterton) and Merelees (Hutt) were the judges. Cricket Club Meeting. At the annual meeting of the Featherston Cricket Club the report stated that nine friendly matches had been played during the last year, seven of which were won. The balance sheet showed a credit of £22 4s 2d. The following officers were appointed:—Secretary and treasurer, Mr F. Dohnt (pro tem); committee, Messrs F. Dohnt, C. Buck, J. Price, A. Walker, D. McKenzie, M. Fuge, A. Fuge, L. Buck. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. Golf Team. The following will represent Featherston at Tui Glen on Sunday:—Men: W. Rowles. W. Crawford, H. Wehipeihana, K. Allen, G. O’Neale, W. Fountain, R. Donald, H. Bloxam, W. Jeffrey, H. McCarty, J. Davis, I. Donald, H. Lawson, D. Carlyon, H. Lovegrove, M. Benton, H. McWilliams. Ladies: Mrs Davis, Miss M. Bloxam, Mrs Stockley, Mrs McCarty, Mrs Lovegrove, Mrs Staples.
