BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE
ELIMINATION FESTIVAL. The North Island Elimination Festival of the British Drama League will be held in the Opera House, Masterton, on Monday and- Tuesday next, beginning promptly at 8 o’clock each night. Three plays will be presented on Monday. On Tuesday the award of the adjudicator will be announced. Tuesday’s session will open with a Scottish comedy entitled “The Hikers,” by Joe Corrie, presented by the Dannevirke Knox Players, and produced by Mrs K. MacDonald. All Saints’ players present the play, “The Old Bull,” by Bernard Gilbert, produced by Mr F. C. Balham. This team was equal first in the Wellington area. The other presentation will be “Dirge Without Dole,” by Cedric Mount, produced by Miss May MacDonald and presented by the Napier Repertory Players. This team was awarded highest place in the New Zealand finals last year. Patrons are reminded that, in fairness to the teams, the public cannot be admitted while a play is in progress. Seats may be reserved for both nights at Mr Vivian Joseph’s shop in Queen Street.
