It is understood that the Wairoa broadcasting station, 2ZP, is to be closed down as soon as the new Hawke’s Bay national station comes into operation. Wairoa listeners are expressing concern at the prospect of losing what they have come to regard during the past 10 years as an institution and municipal asset, while the children are realising that they are shortly to be deprived of a service which has meant so much to them in the past in social entertainment and artistic education.
