The Group Scout’s report stated inter alia: —Since the last meeting, I regret that owing to illness and other causes, I have been unable to attend parades regularly. The troop has been in the capable charge of Mr P. Clark. The attendances at parades have not been quite up to the usual standard during the winter months owing to sickness, but with the return of better weather, a decided improvement was noticed. One boy passed the first' class signalling test, three the first class mapping test, and several boys passed various second class tests. A patrol camp is being held at a camp site on Mr Algie’s property at Fernside at the next weekend, as good safe bathing is available. This site should be popular during the summer months. The troop wishes to express its thanks to Mr Algie for offering the use of the camp site. A very successful parents’ evening was held on August 25, the attendance of parents and friends being really gratifying. Mr P. Clark has been of great assistance to the acting cubmaster, Miss Gwenda Wenden, and besides taking the Cubs on two Saturday afternoon tramps, has also spent considerable time coaching them in Rugby football—J.
