The Association of the British Chambers of Commerce passed a resolution, recognising Mr Chamberlain’s action in preventing a European war. The association also passed a resolution, expressing anxiety regarding export trade. The chairman, Sir Granville Gibson, declared that, if the foreigner does not take British goods, Britain must limit her imports, even of primary products, in order to increase the absorbtive capacity of the home market.
