MERCURY LEAVES DUNDEE BOUND FOR CAFE OF GOOD HOPE AN AMBITIOUS PROGRAMME (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 6. The Mercury, the upper component of the pick-a-back aircraft, left Dundee for the Cape of Good Hope at 1.20 p.m. in an attempt to break Clouston's time record to the Cape, and the world’s long-distance record held by Russia.
