R.S.A. DANCE
.FUNCTION AT TE WHITE The Te Whiti Hall was crowded last night by dancers who thoroughly enjoyed a dance organised by local returned soldiers under the auspices of the Carterton R.S.A. branch. With a capable committee consisting of Messrs W. Ireland, W. F. Rogers, W. H. Bradley, J. Young and J. E. Snell in charge of the arrangements, everything possible was done to ensure that the dancers enjoyed themselves. Modern and old time dances were indulged in until an early hour this morning. , Following supper, the thanks of the Carterton R.S.A. members were extended to the Te Whiti ex-Servicemen by Mr D. Gibb Johnston, branch secretary, who acknowledged the support given to the branch. With two new enrolments last night, the branch membership now stood at 103, including the Te Whiti members. Prior to the close of the dance, Mr A. T. Murray, branch chairman, thanked the M.C., Mr Len Pike and all those who had assisted in making the function such a success. There were approximately 100 people present, and the music was supplied by McKay's Orchestra. Waltzs were also played by members of the Carterton Pipe Band.
