OBITUARY

LIEUT.-COL. D. COLQUHOUN. DISTINGUISHED WAR SERVICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Obituary: Lieutenant-Colonel Douglas Colquhoun, D. 5.0., V.D., of Lower Hutt. Lieutenant-Colonel Colquhoun went overseas with the Second Reinforcement to the Otago Regiment, was wounded in Gallipoli in 1915 and later served in France and was promoted to major in 1916 and to lieutenant-colonel in 1917. He was mentioned in Sir Douglas Haig’s despatches in June, 1916, and was awarded the D.S.O. in October, 1917, for conspicuous gallantry at Passchendaele and was again mentioned in despatches in 1917. He leaves a wife, son and daughter.
