MAGINOT LINE
REMAINING ON WAR FOOTING UNTIL GERMANY DEMOBILISES. GENERAL GAMELIN’S INSPECTION. (Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) PARIS, October 4. General Gamelin (French Chief of Staff) is inspecting the Maginot Line and arranging for gradual demobilisation of reserves behind the line, but the line will remain on a war footing until Germany demobilises.
