MASTERTON RACES

ANNUAL MEETING NEXT WEEK. GOOD SPORT PROMISED With the approach of the Masterton Racing Club’s meeting on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, increasing interest is being taken in the fixture, and indications point to the club experiencing a most successful gathering. Excellent nominations have been received, and it is anticipated that after the closing of acceptances next Friday, fields of a useful size will parade in the various events. The club is deserving of every support, and it is hoped that there will be a very large attendance of the public, thus rewarding the club for its decision to race in spite of the loss of a Saturday. Masterton business firms will close their shops from noon on the second day. The course and appointments at Opaki are in first-class order.
