KURIPUNI TENNIS CLUB

OFFICIAL OPENING w The official opening of the Kuripuni Tennis Club took place on Saturday afternoon, when about 60 players took part in a Yankee Tournament under the capable direction of Mr D. Costello. The club’s president (Mr W. Emerson), welcomed old and new members, and also extended a welcome to members of other clubs who were present. Mrs J. Robertson in officially declaring the courts open for the season apologised for the absence of Mr Robertson, the club’s patron, who was unable to attend. She congratulated the club upon the wonderful weather it had experienced for its opening day, and also expressed the hope that the good attendance augured well for the future of the club. The trophy winners for the afternoon were Miss Simpson (Te Ore Ore), and Mr W. Emerson.
