CARTERTON
AN IMPORTANT MONTH. (“Times-Age” Special.) Today is the first of the month, and October is, of course, a very important month for the people of Carterton and the Wairarapa generally, as the annual P. and A. Society show is held at the end of the month. At one time the Carterton races were also held in the spring, but an autumn date is now raced on. It would probably add to Carterton’s lustre if the races could again be held in the spring, and a proper carnival week were held. Another fixture for October this year is the election, and this has previously been held over a perior of years either in November or early in December. It is just two weeks to the election day.
