WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION RETURNS AVERAGES FOR SEPTEMBER The September averages of cows tested by the Wairarapa Herd Testing Association are as follow; — Greytown No 1 Group: —Cows under test, 839; monthly group average, 8541 b milk, 36.21 b fat; highest herd average, 20 cows, 881 b fat; highest cow, 1041 b fat. Greytown No 2 Group:—Cows under test 1008; monthly group average, 918 lb milk, 37.1 lb fat; highest herd average, 58 cows, 531 b fat, highest cow, 781 b fat. Gladstone Group:—Cows under test 1049; monthly group average, 8361 b milk, 37.71 b fat; highest herd average, 2 cows, 481 b fat; highest cow 811 b fat. Featherston Group:—Cows under test 1615; monthly group average, 8901 b milk, 37.71 b fat; highest herd average, 26 cows, 531 b fat; highest cow, 881 b fat. Martinborough Group:—Cows under test, 1037; monthly group average, 8431 b milk, 33.011 b fat; highest herd average, 41 cows; 421 b fat; highest cow, 71 lb fat. Pahautea Group:—Cows under test, 488; monthly group average 7641 b milk. 35.21 b fat; highest herd average, 22 cows, 491 b fat; highest cow, 831 b fat. Association summary (figures for the corresponding period of 1937-38 are given in parentheses): Cows under test 6036 (6155); monthly association average, 862 lb milk (8461 b milk), 36.51 b fat (34.91 b fat); highest herd average 58 cows, 531 b fat (77 cows, 521 b fat); highest cows, 1041 b fat (821 b fat).
