STATE THEATRE
“SAILING ALONG” FINALLY TONIGHT. “Sailing Along” and “The Gap” will be shown finally the State Theatre tonight. “THE BARONESS AND THE BUTLER.” “The Baroness and the Butler,” showing at the State Theatre tomorrow night at 8 o’clock is 20th CenturyFox’s gayest contribution to sophisticated screen comedy, and has more than its share of accuracy in thematic detail. This sparkling hit, which costars William Powell and Annabella, is the gay story of a butler in a Hungarian noble family, who is elected to Parliament on a political ticket which is opposed to his employer’s. The note of authenticity in this picture is amplified by the presence in the cast of J. Edward Bromberg, who was born .in Temesvar, Hungary, and Joseph Schildkraut, native of Vienna, Austria—both of whom were invaluable in advising on the charm of the old regimes in that section of Europe. The supporting cast also features Helen Westley, Henry Stephenson, Nigel Bruce and Lynn Bari. Walter Lang directed.
