JOHNSONVILLE SALE
READY MARKET FOR PRIME BULLOCKS A large yarding 0/cattle and a large yarding of cows were offered at Johnsonville , sale yesterday. All prime quality /bullocks met with a ready sale, with prices slightly easier than those ruling last week, while prime cattle were hard to quit. No prime heavy cows came forward, the yarding being of very unfinished quality, with prices easier by 10s to 15s a head. Runners met with a good sale, with prices showing no alteration. Small calves met with a good sale. A small yarding of sheep was offered. Prices for all classes were easier by Is to Is 6d a head for both wethers and ewes. Hoggets met with a good sale at prices firm, while light and mediumweight quality were easier by 2s a head. Spring lambs met with a keen competition, with prices at late rates. Realisations were: — Cattle: Prime extra heavy bullocks, £2O 12s 6d to £l9; prime heavy bullocks, £lB 12s 6d to £l6 10s; heavy bullocks, £l5 to £l4 10s; light and unfinished bullocks, £l3 12s 6d to £lO 10s; prime heavy cows and heifers. £ll to £9 15s; cows and heifers, £9 to £8; runners and vealers, £6 10s to £3 18s; small calves,-25s to ss. Sheep: Prime extra heavy wethers, 31s 6d to 38s; prime heavy wethers, 27s 6d to 26s lOd; medium wethers, 25s 6d to 24s lOd; prime extra heavy ewes, 24s 6d to 23s 6d; prime heavy ewes, 23s to 21s; medium ewes, 20s to 16s 6d; heavy hoggets, 29s to 26s lOd; light hoggets, 25s 6d to 225; heavy spring lambs, 30s
