♦ ' LANSDOWNE CLUB ANNUAL - MEETING. SEASON’S PROSPECTS BRIGHT. Mr J. G. McFarlane presided at the second annual meeting of the Lansdowne Lawn Tennis Club, held last evening. There was a good attendance of members. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The chairman congratulated the club on the successful season under review and on the improvements which had been carried out by members. He felt assured that an enjoyable season was in view and that the courts would open for play in'very good order. A motion of sympathy with Mr Perrin, a foundation member of the club, in the loss of his wife was carried. It was decided to open the season on October 15 with a Yankee tournament. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Patroness, Mrs H. E. Pither; president, Mr J. G. McFarlane; vice-presidents. Messrs S. A. Mills, D. A. Pickering, A. V. Faulknor, H. E. Pither and J. W. T. Jones; hon. secretary, Mr D. Faulknor; hon. treasurer. Miss M. Pither; hon. auditor, Mr R. Coutts; club captain, Mr M. Manson; general committee, Messrs A. Allsop, R. Faulknor, R. Harrington, Misses Shaw and Nola Welch, Mesdames Groves and Torr.
