DESIRE TO COOPERATE WITH GERMANY ENTHUSIASM AT PUBLIC DEMONSTRATIONS. EXCITEMENT IN TESCHEN. (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, September 22. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Warsaw correspondent says there has been a noticeable cooling off from yesterday’s bellicose attitude, following bn the Prague Government’s surrender, though official feelings are ruffled at the Anglo-French talk of. a guarantee without the Polish Government being consulted. Speakers at all public meetings insist on the restoration of Teschen and Silesia. Moreover, there is no doubt left in the public mind that if Germany .attacks Czechoslovakia, Poland will immediately follow suit. “To arms for Teschen!” was the conclusion of a speech by General Skwarczynksy at a meeting of 50,000 persons in Pilsudski Square today. The crowds responded with: “Down with the Czech robbers!” “Down with Benes!” and afterward brought traffic to 5 standstill with a procession to the residence of Marshal .Smigly Rydz, shouting: “Let’s go to Teschen!” The town of Teschen itself is becoming excited. Poles allegedly attacked two police station, forcing the police to flee. A message from Warsaw says it is officially announced that Polish minority nationals have occupied Czechoslovak police stations in the Teschen district, which the Czechs have evacuated. According to a message from Budapest, it is officially announced that the “friendly Governments of Italy, Germany and Poland have taken steps to ensure a diplomatic assurance of Hungarian claims on Czechoslovakia.” Hungary has also informed England and France thst Hungary expects them to see that concessions, similar to those made to the Sudetens, are made w Hungary.
