MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. • The weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club was held last evening in the club room, Municipal Buildings, Mr. A. Dewar, D.8.E.A., presiding over a satisfactory attendance of members. Correspondence in Esperanto received during the week included an invitation from the Palmerston North Club to attend a function arranged for October 8, and a postcard from France depicting the recently unveiled Australian memborial and bearing a specially issued commemorative postage stamp. As Dominion secretary, Mr. W. H. King gave a brief report of the meeting of the Dominion executive which he had attended in Wellington during the past week-end and presented the greetings of the executive to local club members. He announced also that Esperanto teaching has been commenced at the Granity District High School. Following a period of Esperanto conversational practice, Mr. King gave a short survey of the book-list of the British Esperanto Association, which revealed that there is available a considerable supply of literature relating to language study, history, prose, drama and verse, theology, religion and philosophy, socialogy and politics, travel and topography, art, commercial science and technics. The programme concluded with an Esperanto reading, (“En la salonego”) by Miss Mavis J. Ross, M A.
