The programme for Mr Chamberlains visit includes a boat flip on the Rhine, on which it is proposed to hold the conversations to ensure secrecy. Police boats are patrolling the river, and a detachment of the Gestapo (Secret Police) has arrived to guard Herr Hitler’s hotel.
