OLD BOYS’ CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Old Boys’ Cricket Club states:—The finances of the club show a decided improvement. Commencing the season with a deficit your executive is pleased to be able to place before you a statement of receipts and payments showing a substantial credit balance. This now brings us to the question of subscriptions and club material. An inventory of the latter shows it to be in fair order although the question of keeping up the supply of bats is somewhat of a problem. This anxiety can be overcome by the assistance of members to become financial early in the season and by doing so will assist your committee to a very great extent. We are indebted to Messrs E. Sortain Smith, W. A. Todd, F. G. Maunsell and A. McPherson for their donations towards our finances and can assure them their assistance is very much appreciated. Practices were fairly well attended and the committee wish to take this opportunity of expressing their appreciation to the Wairarapa College in making available an excellent practice wicket. The club’s thanks are also due to the custodians of the College and the Masterton Park for the preparation of match wickets throughout the season. The following are to be congratulated upon gaining representative honours: —Messrs P. Ryan and N. S. Parsonson. At the end of the season your committee held its annual dinner to mark the close of a happy season and it was pleasing to note that representatives of all senior clubs attended. In conclusion your committee wish to thank the press, the Wairarapa Cricket Association, officials of the club, the umpires, and the hon auditor for their services for the past season—For the committee, A. A. McPherson, President; R. Lendrum, Hon. Secretary.
The annual meeting is to. be held at No. 5 Perry Street at 7.30 o’clock on Wednesday.
