COSY THEATRE

“KING SOLOMON OF BROADWAY”

Presenting that lady from Hollywood who makes a great many hearts beat faster, beautiful Dorothy Page of the golden voice, and Edmund Lowe, who always gives an outstanding performance, Universal’s fast-moving comedy drama with music, “King Solomon of Broadway,” will open tonight at the Cosy Theatre. Strong support is given these noted players by Edward Pawley, remembered as the “public enemy” of “G-Man,” attractive Louise Henry, excellently cast as a society beauty, and Charles Grapewin, as her father, who though aged and rhumatic, refused to give up his fun. Outstanding is the dance palace set, a two storey interior which must have covered a space as large as a city block and in which most of the action took place. It was modernistically constructed and lent itself well to the colourful action and songs. Miss Page and Homlin prove that they can not only act but sing. While having to do with Broadway night life. “King Solomon of Broadway” does not lose itself in musical efforts. A shooting, a fight, a kidnapping and other dramatic events add to the natural “punch” of the vehicle. Also- on this programme is “Yellowstone,” a gripping drama of mystery in the great Hot Lakes district.
