FEILDING SALE. PRICES REMAIN FIRM. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) FEILDING, September 16. There was a small yarding of all stock at the Feilding sale today. Sale prices remained firm for both sheep and cattle. Some nicely-finished hoggets in the fat pens sold on an upward trend, tops being priced at 225. The top in store hoggets met a keen demand, although last week’s prices for ewe hoggets was not realised. Cattle sold well and some well-grown yearlings made up to £6 2s, and others bought more than the £5 mark. For dairy stock inquiries were quiet. CARTERTON SALE. PRICES ON PAR WITH LATE RATES Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at our Carterton sale yesterday and was offered to a large attendance. Prices realised were on a par with late rates and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. Sheep: Fat maiden ewes and weth- , ers, 265, 28s 5d to 28s 6d; fat ewes, 16s to 18s 3d; forward ewes, 12s 6d, 13s to 14s 3d; woolly wether hoggets, 19s 6d, 20s, 21s to 21s 8d; b.f. hoggets, 16s, 16s 3d to 18s 4d; medium b.f. hoggets, 12s 3d, 13s, 14s to 14s 3d; fat b.f. hoggets, 225, 23s Gd to 24s small b.f. hoggets, 7s to 8s 7d; store ewes, 5s 9d, 7s to 9s 3d; ewe hoggets (good) to 28s 3d. Cattle: Jersey cows just calved, £6 15s to £8 ss; spg. Jersey heifers, £6, £6 15s, £7 15s to £9 ss; heifers just . calved, £2 15s to £5 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 to £3 6s 6d; fat heifers, £6 5s to £7; fat cows, £4 15s to £7 7s; forward cows, £3 to £4 10s; ( store cows, £2 to £2 9s; cull cows, 10s to 30s. Pigs: Weaners (good), 21s to 245; (medium), 17s to 20s; (small) 12s to 16s; slips, 25s to 27s 6d; store pigs, 28s to 31s; light porkers, 34s to 37s 6d; porkers, 39s to £2 13s; baconers, £2 5s to £3 ss; sows to farrow, to £3 10s; sows with litters, £3 to £6 15s; choppers, i£3 5s to £3 12s 6d.
