CHURCH SERVICES

The preacher in the Methodist Church tomorrow morning will be the Rev. Howard Harkness, M.A., of Greytown. At the evening service the: Rev. Fred J. Parker will speak on the subject, “Shall we Fear God?” At the Kuripuni Methodist Church tomorrow, Pastor C. H. Skuse will be the morning preacher and the Rev. Howard Harkness, of Greytown the evening preacher. A reminder is given of the after-church rally in the Opera House on Sunday evening at 8.15 o’clock.

In the Ruhama’n Gospel Hall on Sunday evening the “Wonderful Chart” series of services will be continued, when the subject will be, “The Judgment of the Nations.”

On Sunday, which is the nearest Sunday to St. Matthew’s Day, the choir of St. Matthew’s Church, under the direction of Mr Wm. C. Mann, and with Mr A. Miller Hope at the organ, will render the cantata “Christ the Comforter.” by Arthur Pearson. The words of this cantata, which are consistent with the subject title, are taken from the well known hymns, “O Worship the Lord,” “Love Divine All Loves Excelling,” “Hark, Hark My Soul,” “Nearer My God to Thee,” etc., and these are interspersed by beautiful solos to be sung by various members of the choir. Tomorrow will be marked by special Patronal Festival services at St. Matthew’s Church. On this, the parish birthday, all communicants are invited to join in Holy Communion at 7 a.m.. 8 a.m. or 11 a.m. Confirmation classes will resume at 4 p.m. At all services special prayers will be offered, in accordance with the call to prayer, for guidance and peace in the world situation.
