A big sailing ship’s anchor which was picked up in Lyttelton Harbour, near Godley Head, a few months ago, has been purchased by a resident of St Albans and will be used as part of a garden decoration scheme. The purchaser, whose family was connected with the early sailing ships, has made a hobby of collecting relics of the old days of sail.
