ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY

FINAL COM CERT OF SEASON. The Masterton Orchestral Society will present the final concert of the season at the Opera House on Tuesday, September 27. The Society has steadily increased in membership since its inception and now numbers more than 40 performers. The programme to be presented is also quite in advance of any previous performance. The principal item will be the “Capriccio Espagnole” by Rimsky-Korsa-kov, a brilliant composition rarely attempted even by city orchestras. This will be supported by numbers by Beethoven, Percy Grainger, Verdi and others. The vocalist of the evening will be Miss Edith Ralph who will sing several choice numbers accompanied by the orchestra.
